Session Minutes
September 18, 2025
- Attendees: Dave Hinkley, Krista Batchelor, Gary Lowe, Marsha Brooks, Chrissie Gallaher Charles Henry, Margie Fielder, Carmie Messenger, Pete Capazolli, Pastor Steve and Robert Dennison
- Absent: Chrissie
- Pastor Steve opened the meeting with prayer at 7:00PM
- August 21 minutes reviewed and approved
- Devotional read by Marsha Brooks
- Short training video was viewed and discussed
- Finance policy and procedure changes including expense payment and credit cards were reviewed. A motion to approve changes was made then withdrawn when the moderator indicated specific approval not required. Tacit approval was implied as no objection was raised by any member.
- Motion made to hold a special congregational meeting to elect nominating committee members from congregation at large on October 5, 2025. Motion carried.
- Question raised regarding methodology of creating monthly financial reports. Brief discussion ensued. No changes are anticipated.
- Review that cleaning around the church has improved after last month’s expression of concern.
- A comment made about miscellaneous items donated to Christian Ed accumulating around the CE building. CE asked that these donations stop. Session agreed to notify congregation.
- The wild turkey visiting the cemetery was discussed. Concern was expressed about aggressive action of the bird causing injury to congregants. Action permitted to be taken was to be discussed with the DNR police, one of our congregation members. The possibility of moving the bird to a local farm was discussed. Required authorization was to be determined.
